Tuesday marks yet another House special election, this one in Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional District, which includes suburbs outside of Pittsburgh. The race pits Republican state Rep. Rick Saccone against Democrat Conor Lamb. The two are competing to succeed former Rep. Tim Murphy (R-PA), who resigned in disgrace in October after details surfaced about his extramarital affair.
The district is heavily pro-Republican. In 2016, Hillary Clinton won the support of just 38.5 percent of the district’s voters. Traditionally that would make matters difficult for Lamb, but Democrats across the country have funneled money into the 33-year-old’s campaign coffers, amplifying his campaign’s message.
So, who is Conor Lamb? To get the latest on this and dozens of other Democratic candidates, become an AR Intel Insider today.
