Well folks, this is it. With less just four days to go until Election Day 2018, candidates and campaigns are making their closing arguments to voters at rallies and through digital and TV ads. By this time next week, we’ll not only know which party has control of the House and Senate, but speculation about 2020 presidential candidates will begin in earnest shortly thereafter.
Generally speaking, polls for the key Senate races are all over the map. Conventional wisdom says Republicans are looking good in North Dakota and Tennessee. Missouri also appears to be a key pick-up for Republicans, and they may very well defend their Nevada Senate seat, as well. Democrats hold razor-thin leads in the RealClearPolitics polling averages in Indiana, Arizona, and Florida.
On the House side, Democrats are expecting to pick up enough seats to retake control of the chamber on Tuesday. Will that actually happen? During a late night television appearance this week, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi guaranteed it. That guarantee will be put to the test Tuesday night.
