It was a busy week for presidential politics, as three more Democrats launched their presidential campaigns. In the Senate, Democrats announced plans to launch a television ad campaign criticizing six Republican senators for the partial government shutdown. Speculation also continues for possible candidates to challenge Sens. Doug Jones (D-AL) and Martha McSally (R-AZ), as well as which Republican may run to replace Sen. Pat Roberts (R-KS). On the House front, the big news this week was the announcement that Rep. Tom Marino (R-PA) intends to resign from office later this month, which will prompt a special election before this summer.
